Israel is the only nation ineligible to sit/vote on the UN Security Council.
Israel is the only one of the 193 member countries ineligible to serve on the UN Security
Council, the key deliberative group of the world body.
This situation
violates the principle of the sovereign equality of all member states of the UN under Article 2 of the UN Charter.
Arab/Islamic countries hostile to Israel such as Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Egypt, Jordan,
Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon, Bahrain, UAE, Yemen, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Indonesia,
Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan,
are all eligible to sit on the UN Security Council and vote on matters pertaining to their own affairs and the existence of Israel.
Along with such nations as Cuba, North Korea & Venezuela who have displayed
considerable enmity towards the Jewish state.
Arab/Islamic opposition within the UN system itself ensures that membership of any regional
UN group is prohibited to the Jewish state rendering Israel ineligible to also sit on other bodies such as the World
Court, UNICEF and the Commission on Human Rights.
The UN has lost all credibility in issues relating to Israel.
The UN has indeed lost all credibility in relation to Israel as votes within
the General Assembly are being considerably devalued due to their manipulation in promoting & fulfilling an agenda
which is both hostile and disportionate towards Israel.
The General Assembly
annually adopting a plethora of one-sided and narrow resolutions that single out Israel for special treatment while
far more serious and pressing issues relating to other countries are either ignored or sidelined.
Anti-Semitism within the United Nations.
This
writer maintains that criticism of Israel, like that of any other nation, is quite normal as long as it is comparative,
contextual, and fair.
However, when the Jewish nation is the only party criticized
for faults that are far worse among other peoples, then such criticism crosses the line from being acceptable to
being blatantly anti-Semitic.
Indeed it is quite legitimate for UN bodies to criticize
member states including Israel, but not when they do do so unfairly, selectively, massively, sometimes exclusively,
and always obsessively.
The demonstration of such overt bias practiced against one state, clearly with
a view to it's isolation and vilification, undermines the UN's credibility and integrity.
The
'pre-arranged conspiracy' of the UN.
Like a pre-arranged
conspiracy the Arab/Islamic world seizes every possible opportunity via the UN to carefully choreograph, manipuate and
pursue an agenda that seeks to attack, undermine and delegitimize the Jewish state through the passing of resolution
after resolution.
Facilitating discriminatory treatment the Islamic countries
are a reliable source of venom who, led by the Arab bloc & the group of 'non-aligned' nations (usually
aligned against Israel), form an automatic numeric majority within the UN body surrounding any vote/issue relating to
the Jewish state thereby ensuring that all resolutions voted upon against Israel are passed to Israel's detriment.
Israel's enemies then being provided with the ammunition through which they can vilify
the Jewish state and declare how "..Israel violates more UN Resolutions than anyone else..."
The
UN's own 'Palestinian Units'
Beyond the resolutions
of the General Assembly, the GA sustains its own “Palestinian Units,” including the Committee on the
Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, the Division on Palestinian Rights, and the Special Committee
to Investigate Israeli Practices affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories.
Together, these committees spend millions of dollars to promote their work that seeks to enshrine the Palestinian
narrative at the expense of historical facts and current realities. In only one of countless examples, during the
2005 United Nations Annual Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the main ceremony featured a map of the region in
which all of modern Israel was labeled “Palestine.”
UN Human Rights Council isolates Israel for 'special
treatment'.
The UN has repeatedly held "Emergency
Special Sessions" focusing solely on Israel.
The UN holds an annual "Palestine Day"
and has specific bodies devoted to supporting the Palestinians eg the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable
Rights of the Palestinian People, the Division on Palestinian Rights & the Special Committee to Investigate
Israeli Practices affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People.
The UN Human Rights Council
is obsessed with condemning Israel which is the only country listed on the Council’s permanent agenda and which is subjected
to an investigatory mandate that examines the actions of only one side.
UN would
not 'approve' Israel's re-birth again.
On 29 November 1947 the UN voted
on the UN Partition Plan for Palestine, which was approved by 33-13 with 10 abstentions and thus brought
about the re-birth of the Jewish state of Israel in it's ancient Biblical homeland.
Deputy Israeli
Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon recently stated that "..If the United Nations General Assembly were to vote
today on Resolution 181, the Partition Plan that led to the creation of the modern State of Israel, “there is no doubt”
that it would not be approved.."
This is a damning indictment upon the present
state of the United Nations and it's member states, who as Former Israeli Ambassador to the UN - Dore Gold - also stated
recently "..the UN today seeks to undermine the very legitimacy of the State of Israel.."
Some have coined a new phrase which
is extremely appropriate to describe the 'Israelophobia' of the United Nations;-
O.C.I.D. "Obsessive Compulsive Israel Disorder".
God's Sovereignty in relation to His People and His
Land.
In my humble opinion the re-birth of Israel at the appropriate time in history shows the
Sovereignty of God's dealing with His Land, His People & sinful man.
"For
I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me. Declaring the end from the beginnning and from ancient
times things that are not yet done.." (Isaiah 46; 9-10).
"The Lord brings the counsel of the nations
to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect" ......."The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He
thwarts the purposes of the peoples, But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His Heart through all generations.."
(Psalm 33; 10-11; NKJV & NIV)....
